Increase in capacity of aluminum smelter

A significant amount of equipment was supplied by our organization during the implementation of strategic projects of Aluminum of Kazakhstan JSC.
The program to expand alumina production by 300 thousand tons per year provided for the creation of new additional capacities at individual stages of the full technological cycle of bauxite processing, as well as the reconstruction of part of the existing stages in the existing alumina workshop. Expansion facilities are newly created production buildings and structures installed on free sites adjacent to the corresponding technological stage, as well as reconstructed and new equipment units located on the working sites of the existing alumina workshop within the dimensions of existing buildings. The increase in production capacity consisted of the installation of new main technological equipment that fit into the existing infrastructure.

For the production of coarse alumina the following were needed:
- construction of decomposition battery No. 10, consisting of 18 decomposers with mechanical mixing with a capacity of 2150 m3 each;
- construction of a production hydrate pulp classification unit with repulpers and hydrocyclone batteries for decomposition batteries No. 7, 8, 9, 10;
- construction of a seed washing unit (for the removal of organic matter);
- installation of disk filters for seed filtration;
- installation of filters MVAZH - 250 for filtering the mother liquor for the 10th decomposition battery;
- reconstruction of the decomposition section highlighting the agglomeration scheme (transfer of D-1 to agglomeration mode);
- installation of heat exchangers on 7, 8, 9, 10 batteries;
- construction of two autoclave batteries;
- construction of two evaporation batteries with an impurity removal unit;
- construction of a conveyor system for transporting alumina;
- decomposition department: battery No. 9 of decomposers with mechanical mixing in the amount of 10 pieces with a capacity of 4500 x 4900 m3 each.
